Representative-elect Ashely Hinson, of Marion, was elected to represent Iowa’s 67th District which includes Hiawatha and Robins.
Ashley grew up in Des Moines. After high school, she attended college at the University of Southern California and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Broadcast Journalism. For more than a decade she’s worked as a news anchor, reporter, and producer at KCRG-TV9 in Cedar Rapids connecting with the community, policy makers, and businesses.
She’s a volunteer for dozens of community organizations, including the NCSML, Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance, March of Dimes, Young Parents Network, National Council on Youth Leadership, The History Center, and Junior Achievement of Eastern Iowa.
Ashley is married to her husband, Matthew, and they have two young sons.
